Fabulous Fishing at your doorstep

Welcome to Bear Trail Lodge located on famous Eagle Lake! Fish a lodge on a world class lake where you have the chance to hook a trophy muskie, walleye, northern pike, lake trout and small mouth bass just minutes from your cabin door.

Bear Trail Lodge is nestled on the shore of a quiet sheltered bay just outside of Waldhof, Ontario. Eagle lake is an expansive 68,428 acres with 406 miles of wooded shoreline with more than 400 islands. The average depth is 22 ft. with a maximum depth of 110 ft. The lake structure shows dramatic drop offs from large, shallow weed beds to 20, 40, and 80 ft. deep waters.

Eagle lake is world famous as one of the top producing muskie lakes in North America. Eagle Lake has held the world muskie record and produces many trophy fish every year. Top fishing pros believe this lake has the potential to produce a new world record at any time. Walleye fishing on Eagle Lake is fantastic with both average and trophy lunkers taken every day in early spring (May & June). Walleye action is hot, to say the least, and we continue to have good consistent fishing throughout July, August and September.

Lake Trout fishing also provides some great action, especially in the spring and fall when they inhabit the shallow waters and are the easiest to catch. During the summer, lake trout fishing can be consistently good when fished off banks or deep water jigging.

Small mouth Bass are plentiful on Eagle Lake with a good average size in the 2 to 4 pound class. They provide for some of the most exciting fishing action that you'll find anywhere. This is why they often refer to small mouth as "the best fighting fish of the north."

Northern Pike are also plentiful on Eagle Lake and provide some great fishing action in great numbers with trophies caught often.
